Various types of experiences for visitors are available and we encourage guests to explore Southern Ethiopia in the most meaningful way possible! We have a strong network of community groups and partner associations across the communities in which we work. We facilitate a number of volunteer opportunities and cultural exchange programs with communities or in environmental conservation activities.

Cultural Tours

This is focussed on exploring the diverse ethnic groups in Southern Ethiopia, allowing guests to experience traditional and indigenous ways of life that may be starkly different to their own. These tours allow guests to deepen their understanding of human diversity, environmental and human relationships, indigenous cultures and society.

The ethnic groups within Southern Ethiopia are widely diverse, geographically, linguistically, culturally and historically and have been vastly unexposed outside their immediate communities until very recently.

The tribes included in the tour can be selected based on special interests of the client and time allowances.

More information on the different ethnic groups that welcome guests in Southern Ethiopia can be found on our About Southern Ethiopia page.

National Park Package

Southern Ethiopia boasts many National Parks, abundant in wildlife and environmental diversity. From Bale’s alpine peaks to Mago’s grassland savannah, to Nech Sar’s crocodile-rich lakes, the Parks of the South have much to offer.

Ethiopian National Parks are much less explored than many others in nearby countries, providing nature-seeking visitors ample opportunity to experience nature and wildlife excursions, from just short half-day trips to a multiple day package in some of the most remote locations in Africa!

The National Park Package allows travellers with a particular interest in nature, wilderness and the outdoors, to explore multiple parks one after the other. We offer trips to Nech Sar National Park, Bale, Mago, Omo, Maze and Chebera Chuchura (new).

In-depth descriptions on these different parks are accessible on our About Southern Ethiopia page.

Combination Package

This is by far the most preferred tour type! The Combination Package combines both cultural and national park trips into one custom-made holiday.

The number of community and parks included in the package are dependent on the guests’ time allowances and preferences. Get in touch to plan your itinerary!

Special Interest Tour

Contact us to discuss trips based on your special interests or needs. Often, guests have particular interests that require some additional planning.

These may include bird watching, trekking, photography, volunteerism, luxury or student group travel.

We will be happy to accommodate!
